In Tibet, the best times for cycling are May, middle of June and September, when the weather is warm and dry. As usual, the optimum time to come to Tibet is from May to October while it doesn't mean the same for cycling. Cycling needs better weather conditions. Please note that wet season (from June to the middle of August) is not suitable for cycling.
The cost depends on lots of factors, such as the date and length of your trip, the itineraries and the standard of accommodation, so it is hard to say how much the cost is for cycling in Tibet if you do not share the information listed above with us. However, cycling in Tibet is much more expensive than routine sightseeing trips. You need to hire a guide, lease a licensed vehicle with a driver, rent a mountain bike and prepare some bicycle gear.
Yes. In Lhasa, there are many bicycle shops offering bicycle rental services. You could ask your guide to take you to these shops and assist you in renting a bike. In general, the cost of bicycle rental in Lhasa is about 60-80 RMB per day. However, in addition to the rental fee, you also need to pay a refundable deposit of about 800 RMB per bike.
Initially our tour consultant AMY did a fantastic job of coordinating our tour. This included arranging our small group to meet up in Lhasa despite us arriving there on different days. Had a 10 days trip to Tibet with Asia Odyssey. The staffs and tour guide are very nice and helpful. Kay was the person who got in touch with me, and she assisted me with all the document and trip information. Honestly, she made me a lot more comfortable with the trip since I just found this company on the internet and I wasn't sure if it was a legit thing. She also came picked me up from the airport and sent me all the way to the hotel. She is truly a sweet and warm girl! :) Besides, the tour guide and driver are very friendly, they provided a lot of information for me to understand and discover Tibet from a different angle. Amy local agent have done great job in arrange the 15days tour. She is always ready to answer any queries and keep checking on us during the trip. We are thankful so much again to our agency Asia Odyssey Travel and my dear Amy for the wonderful arrangement and make my trip to Mt Kailash trip possible, really apperiated! We did Kora around Mt.Kailash for 3 days in August as I had been looking forward this trip for quite a long time, even the second day of Kora are hardest to all of us because part of the roads are covered by snowing with long-distance walking and quite high altitude too, so we spent a lot of physical strength on this but it’s totally worth because the views along the way are very incredible, I think we may not have much chance or time to go there again.

My first and only group tour trip so far. What shall I say? Everything worked like a clockwork. My group mates where great and we had a lot of fun (and celebrated new year successfully). The travel agency (asia Odyssey travel) was definitely a good choice. The advises and caretaking I got from my agency (thanks amy, you are an angel ) was better then the one of my other group members (we talked about it openly). I'm lucky that I choose this trip, tour and agency. It was a good experience and I can definitely recommend it if you like a good and organized tour through tibet.
