You should take cold-proof clothes, and wear thick coats and pants in some areas such as Nyingchi of Lhasa. And long johns are indispensable. The temperature there will not be too low in the day. But it is very low during the night that you should try to stay indoors. You should take chunky sweaters, thickened down jackets and other warm clothes if you go to somewhere at high altitude. The nocturnal temperature in those areas may drop to minus 10 degrees.

Some places such as Ngari and Nam-Co have been closed due to heavy snowfall that it is not suitable for a trip. But cities like Lhasa and Shigatse in winter are still worth a visit. The temperature will reach a several degrees below zero in the morning and evening, and you should wear sweaters and down jackets. 1. Scenic spots at high altitude such as Nam-Co, Mount Everest and Ngari require warm clothes such as sweaters and down jackets all year round. It’s okay to take chunky sweaters only for a day trip to Nam-Co in July or August, but feathers and downs will be warmer if you stay the night there. As for scenic spots at lower altitude such as Lhasa, Nyingchi, Shigatse and Shannan, you can refer to the dressing guides in four seasons above to prepare the suitable clothes.

2. There are strong ultraviolet rays and dry airs all year round in Tibet. You can take caps, sunglasses, lipsticks, sunblocks, moisturizing skin care products, etc.

3. You can buy warm clothes when you arrive Lhasa if you have too many baggage to take or you are bothered to take them, but it’s better to take your own thermal underwear. You can rent jackets and cotton-padded clothes there.

4. There are great temperature differences between day and night in Tibet. The differences can reach 15 degrees in winter. And the temperature differences between day and night in other seasons are about 10 degrees. Tourists entering Tibet for the first time should pay attention to keep warm to avoid colds affecting your journey.
