Flights to Lhasa from Changsha

Changsha is the capital and most populous city of Hunan province in the south central part of the People's Republic of China. It covers 11,819 km2 (4,563 sq mi) and is bordered by Yueyang and Yiyang to the north, Loudi to the west, Xiangtan and Zhuzhou to the south, Yichun and Pingxiang of Jiangxi province to the east.It is part of the Chang-Zhu-Tan city cluster or megalopolis. Changsha is located in the Xiang River valley plain, bordering on Luoxiao Mountains on the east, Wuling Mountains on the west, edging in Dongting Lake on the north and bounded on the south by Hengshan Mountains.

It takes 3 hours and 25 minutes flying from Changsha to Tibet.

China Eastern Airlines MU5827/HO3793, taking off at 8:35 and arriving at Lhasa Gonggar Airport at 16:10, with a stopover in Kunming

Tibet Airlines TV9862, taking off at 20:25 and arriving at Lhasa Gonggar Airport at 0:10+1, operates on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. TV9858, with the same arrival and departure time as TV9862, operates on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Changsha Huanghua International Airport

Changsha Huanghua International Airport (IATA: CSX, ICAO: ZGHA, CAAC LID: HHA) is the airport serving Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, China, as well as nearby cities such as Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. As of 2016, it is the 13th busiest civil airport in China. Located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) from downtown Changsha in the town of Huanghua in Changsha County, the airport has two terminal buildings. The airport is managed by the Hunan Airport Authority, a publicly owned corporation managing all five airports in Hunan Province.

Means of transportation to the airport:

1. Maglev

Maglev: The regular-speed Changsha Maglev connects Huanghua International Airport and Changsha South Railway Station, it started operation on 6 May 2016.

The Maglev line is 18.5 km long and trains and runs at a speed of 120kph to finish the journey in just over 10 minutes.

The ticket price is ¥20 between the Airport and South Railway Station. Metro-card holders can receive a 10% discount.

2. Metro

Metro Line 6: planned and expected to start constructions in following years.

3. Bus

There are direct shuttle buses connecting the airport with Hunan Civil Aviation Hotel, Changsha South Railway Station, and South Bus Station
